In likely the most contentious race in modern American politics, former President, and now President-elect Donald Trump stunned the world with a historic comeback, the likes of which has not been witnessed since Grover Cleveland became the first President to serve non-consecutive terms.
In what can only be described as a sweeping victory for the Republican party, Donald Trump took every swing state and has secured the Electoral College, the popular vote (which has not been won by a republican since George H. W. Bush in 1988). Furthermore, the republicans have won the majority in both houses of congress as well flipping many state level legislative positions. This undoubtly will pave the path forward to confirm many of, if not all of President Trumps cabinet nominees.
Now, only 11 days after an extraordinary referendum, decided by the majority of American citizens, we begin to see the second Trump term take shape as key appointees begin, one by one, to answer the call mandated by the American people and bestowed upon the soon-to-be 47th President of the United States.
